We slept great in the sheep wagon and were fed a delicious breakfast of eggs, hash browns, and sausage at the ripe hour of 730. We made coffee and packed the car before Professor Talp taught us Farming 101. We helped feed the pigs, goats, and chickens and gave them water. The goats were especially playful. Pigs and chickens not so much.
We drove about an hour through overcast skies to Cooke City and resupplied a bit before driving into Yellowstone. Within ten minutes we had a few more buffalo spottings, and we spent the rainy day driving around and enjoying the beautiful sights. We saw hundreds more buffalo, an incredible rainbow, and a huuuge elk. We also stopped to check out some amazing waterfalls through the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
We got hit hard with rain and some hail on the way to or campsite, and took refuge in our car as the thunderstorms came and went all night. We set up a tart between storms and cooked and ate some more tasty cous cous before getting pounder by more rain.
We decided an early bedtime was in store and were in bed before 10. We survived our first thunderstorm!
